Artist Statement

I use my art as a way to process what’s going on inside my head. I live with PTSD, and creating is truly my therapy—so whatever lands on the canvas completely depends on how I'm feeling that exact day. Most of what I make, probably about 95% of it, is built out of sharp, geometric shapes and abstract structures. I think I look for that precision because it gives me a sense of order. But every now and then, I’ll mix in an organic shape—like the silhouette of a person or an animal—to give those rigid lines a bit of a human, emotional anchor.

I used to sketch and paint by hand, but my hands tremble too much for that now. Switching to digital work in Affinity Designer saved my practice. It gave me a new way to stay precise and keep creating without frustration. For me, the digital screen isn't cold; it's a safe, steady space where I can take unpredictable, heavy emotions and organize them into something balanced, honest, and visually harmonious.

About Me

I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember, originally spending decades working with traditional pens, sketchpads, and acrylic paints. For me, art was never just a hobby; it has always been a vital lifeline. After being diagnosed with PTSD, the studio became the one place where I could quiet the noise and safely unpack whatever complex emotions I was carrying.

A few years ago, my creative path took an unexpected turn when I developed a severe tremor in my hands. Suddenly, holding a physical brush or fine-liner became incredibly frustrating, and the traditional methods I relied on for years felt out of reach. Giving up art wasn't an option, so I began looking for a new path. That search led me into the digital space, where I traded physical canvases for software. Learning Affinity Designer completely transformed my practice, allowing me to bypass the physical limitations of my tremor and rediscover the joy of making art. Today, I create all of my work digitally from my home studio, focusing on building structured geometric worlds that bring a sense of calm and order to the chaos.
